Shout It from the Rooftops!
That’s what people would say if you told them good news and they were happy for you, “Shout it from the rooftops!” It is what Jesus told His apostles to do with what He told them (Matt. 10:27). It is what one does with good news, although we might say today, “Get it on the evening news!”
In II Kings 7, there is the account of lepers who had the means to end a famine for a city. They almost kept the news to themselves, but they knew that would not “fly” with God. So they told the authorities.
If you know Jesus, have your sins forgiven, if you are on your way to heaven, if God hears your prayers and everything works together for your good, then you have Good News. What will you do with it?
“This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell...,” (II Kings 7:16).
